Integrative Services: Music Therapy with Emily Rawlings

Integrative music support groups utilize music to encourage positive changes in mood and overall well-being. These online sessions may include music listening, discussion, interpretation, creative expression, song-writing, or other music interventions. Some of the documented benefits of music therapy include improved self-esteem and self-confidence, decreased feelings of anxiety and depression, increased motivation and focus, increased ability to identify and articulate emotions, and stronger connections to other people.

For those who have been approved for this no-cost integrative service through the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, online sessions are offered twice a month with licensed and board-certified music therapist Emily Rawlings, LPMT, MT-BC. Emily has been a music therapist for over a decade and has worked with a variety of individuals with varying needs. As the founder of Dynamic Music Therapy, she has honed her methodology and is passionate about helping people through difficult situations. Having disabilities herself, she has a unique perspective in connecting with others through an understanding of overcoming and living with challenges.

Prior approval by the Behavioral Health Coordinator is required to participate. Requests can be submitted through the Resiliency Center’s website or by calling 702-455-2433. Visit resiliencyandjustice.org/integrativeservices to learn more about other services available, such as art therapy and meditation/mindfulness.
