The Impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences

Join So Cal Route 91 Heals’ special guests from the ACES Aware Grantee of Ventura County to hear about Adverse Childhood Experiences and their impacts on us and on our families. Emani Kelley and Daisy Sumaya will explore the concept and importance of recognizing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and their potential impacts on our lives.

ACEs are very common; two out of three of us have at least one. ACEs and toxic stress can affect our physical and mental health, our families, and our future. There is a lot we can do as a community to promote safe, stable, and nurturing environments that mitigate the risk for toxic stress. We will also consider and bring awareness to our own traumatic experiences and how they may continue to affect the children in our lives.

Zoom link will be provided in advance of the event.
